As you are likely aware, a new public holiday falling on the 3rd Monday in February has become law in Ontario. The change to Section 1.1 of Regulation 285/01 under the Employment Standards Act, 2000 (the "ESA") creates an additional public holiday under the ESA called Family Day. This year Family Day falls on February 16th. Bulletin #1 provides clarification regarding the application of Family Day for Bargaining Unit Construction Trades working pursuant to the various Provincial ICI Collective Agreements. |
